Terms of Use

1. Agreement

These Terms govern your use of the PassDan apps for macOS and iPhone (the "Apps") and this website. The Apps are licensed to you through the App Store under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These Terms add to that agreement. If they conflict, Apple's agreement wins.

2. Your vault and your keys

PassDan is local-first and has no server. You are the only holder of your master password and recovery key. If you lose both, your vault cannot be recovered — by you, by us, or by anyone. Keep your recovery key somewhere safe and keep your own backups, for example with the Apps' encrypted export.

3. Subscriptions

• PassDan offers an auto-renewing subscription, billed monthly or yearly, with a 14-day free trial for new subscribers.
• Payment is charged to your Apple account when you confirm the purchase or when the trial ends.
• The subscription renews automatically unless you turn it off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings.
• One subscription covers the Mac and iPhone apps and can be shared with Family Sharing.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
• Without an active subscription your vault stays readable: you can still unlock, view, copy, and export it. Adding, editing, importing, and sync require a subscription.

4. Acceptable use

Use the Apps only for lawful purposes and in line with these Terms. Don't reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the Apps except where the law allows it.

5. iCloud

Sync relies on Apple's iCloud service, which is provided by Apple under its own terms. We are not responsible for iCloud availability, storage limits, or outages.

6. Disclaimer

We work hard to make PassDan secure and reliable, but the Apps are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PassDan is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, including loss caused by a forgotten master password and recovery key. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Apps in the 12 months before the claim.

8. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how PassDan handles information. In short: we don't collect your data.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. The date above shows the latest version. Continuing to use the Apps after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
